My welcome shares a bit about why I am here but who am I?
I have been a daughter and a wife, I am blessed to be a mother to five children – four boys and one girl, aged 19, 16, 14, 11 and . I work nearly full time, having one day off a fortnight, as well as try and look after my home. Busy? Yes. Challenging? Equally so.
My children would say I have a slightly crazy sense of humour, but five kids will do that to someone. I love music and the outdoors. When I feel overwhelmed, which is more often than I would like to admit, I recharge at the beach or catch a glimmer of sunshine in the garden. Sunsets are gateways to heaven and I love them.
As you will read through my writing I am a Christian but I am not religious, too many people, myself included have been hurt by religion. I believe in a personal relationship with a God of Grace and Mercy. My journey through marriage, divorce and life in general, has taught me the freedom of faith as opposed to the law of religion.
As I grew up I used to love writing. It was my way of expressing my emotions and working through things that were happening in my world. I am thankful that after 23 years of writers block God has restored my ability to share through writing the feelings on my heart and the things I have learnt over recent years. Whether this is meant for my own expression or to reach out to others, my hearts desire is to offer encouragement, understanding, empathy and compassion, sharing some of what I have learned, and other helpful info I find, along the way.
My desire is to include articles of substance, not just feel good emotion. Ideas and suggestions that will impact lives for good and for the long haul.
Take what you will from my writing and leave the rest, if but one phrase helps you feel encouraged or not alone then it will have served its purpose.
I look forward to our journey together.
Blessings
Elke
