Authentically YOU!


Do you live each day truly aligned with your heart, with your passions, and with your purpose?

Or, like me, do you quickly turn aside the things you know you need in order to be Authentically You due to the needs and demands of the day?

This notion of Authentic Living has been on my heart and mind a lot lately.

I know I need good quality sleep, 20-30 minutes exercise and at least a 15-minute quiet time to meditate and journal first thing each morning in order to thrive. This I have learned the hard way and so you would think it would be non-negotiable for me! But, it’s not.

These very things I know my soul needs are the very first things that get pushed aside or put on hold when life gets full. I easily sacrifice my own needs for others or for work or for … (fill in the gaps with the 100’s of things that distract us each day). And, I end up running through each day like a mouse on a treadwheel, exhausted and emotionally drained.

Despite living each day at a frantic pace I lose connection with my heart and soul, my core being aches, and I am left longing for peace.

The crazy thing is I know that when I am committed to honoring these activities first thing each day I am not only more authentically me, but I offer a more genuine self to others. I no longer react or respond on autopilot but I am more able to give from my heart and truly nurture and support those around me.

It is only when we allow ourselves to be filled from the well that we can pour out, give of ourselves, to others.

Where is your “Well”, where does your soul find its nourishment?

Whether it is honoring your spiritual connection with God or taking a few moments each morning to be grateful for your life and those you hold dear, your soul needs nourishing.

We are spiritual beings and when we honor our souls needs we honor those around us as we offer ourselves in support and love.

What do you need to do today to nurture your soul, your Authentic Self?

Do you need more sleep? (I know I do)

Do you need to meditate more regularly? (I certainly do)

Do you need to move your body more regularly? (Me too)

Do you need to be more grateful for your life and those around you? (Life is precious and fleeting – I don’t want to ever take them for granted)
